I usually completely disassemble and clean my gun actions (Rem870, Savage 110, Savage .22 auto, Marlin 1894, etc.) throughly a few times a year then lube them up well before reassembly. This works great in my bolt action rifles, because they are either at the range or in a stand. My shotgun and lever gun go through some pretty dense forests, and pick up a lot of debris along the way. Every time I clean my shotgun, I find a lot of dirt in the action. My question is would it be bad to use 3-in-1 Dry Lube (PTFE Teflon spray) in the actions and not use any wet oil at all? Will this increase wear? Thanks.
