I just received my order of 3 "excellent condition" mags from DSA yesterday. Their website ad made no mention of rust and I paid $12 a piece for these plus shipping. All 3 had rust on them. Two came wrapped in paper and had light surface rust. The other one was in a plastic ziploc and it had rust covering more than 50% of the outside of the mag and numerous areas of deep pitting. The shipping only took 4 days so this one must have been rusty when it was shipped. There are no signs of rust inhibitor or oil on the mags. The 2 with light rust cleaned up with 0000 steel wool but the one with pitting is going back. I called DSA this morning and they said they would exchange them out but it would take several weeks because they were backed up.:(

Sorry to hear about your trouble.

That's not typical DSA. I have ordered a lot of stuff from them, including mags (heck, half of the parts in my FALs are DSA). I have never had bad quality or bad service from them.

However, yes, they can be very slow at times and they take forever to answer emails.

PM Grayrider (our resident DSA rep), maybe he can help.

Being as I am highly appreciative of DSA and their fine products, I feel I must point out that I got some of their 5 dollar magazines. They are slightly used, but work very well. Certainly no rust, and they came with a little cosmoline on them. I did clean them, but they worked fine even with the cosmo on there.

I don't want anybody out there getting the idea that this is typical of DSA. Nobody is perfect, but they are a very good company.

I was going to ask if you called them, but I see you've already done that.

That's BS about being "backed up" and not being able to make things right for "several weeks". If a company screws up, making good on their mistakes should be a priority over filling new orders.

It was no big deal until I got the "it will be several weeks" comment. A few weeks to send me a new magazine? Are you kidding me? I just bought one of their STG58's for crissakes.

I read a couple of reviews on their $5 mags that were great, so I thought the $12 mags would be spectacular.

In my limited experience, well-used FAL mags work better 'out of the box' than new ones do. I never get stoppages with my oldest mags, and some of them look like crap.
