Duracoat question

Hi all. I took my witness .45 to the gun smith about 6 weeks ago to be duracoated (he didn't offer cerakote for some reason) and I FINALLY got it back this past Thursday. Upon picking it up he told me to let it sit for 24hrs before shooting. I know that ideally you should let it sit for around 4 weeks to give it more to time to cure. Without really thinking it through tonight I applied some oil to the slide and wiped the outside with an oil soaked rag out of habit. It then dawned on me that oiling the gun might somehow effect the quality of the curing process. I immediately took a q-tip and did my best to remove any oil from the slide and wiped down the outside of the gun really well. Was oiling the gun before it was properly cured a no-no? I'm hoping if I let it sit for the next few weeks that it will still cure as it is supposed to. Anyone have experience or feed back with this? Thank you.

i have used dura-coat many times for myself and others you should be okay. you can fire the gun anytime after 24 hours. it takes up to six weeks to fully harden.

Probably because duracoat is easier to do, tho not as good of a finish it should still serve you well. I'd call the smith that did the work and see when he actually did the coating then you can get a better idea of how far along you are in the curing process.
