I'm getting tired of using canned air for spraying DuraCoat. I've stayed away from using my hotdog compressor because it doesn't have an inline moisture or oil trap and I worry about contaminating the DuraCoat.

Is this a realistic concern or am I over-thinking it? I am going to call LCW on Monday but thought I'd see what folks here thought.

I bought a 20$ airbrush kit from Harbor freight and a couple of adapters and used my sears air compressor just fine. No problems with water yet. Looked good across the board. I do a full tank purge before I buildup to use the airbrush to eliminate any residual water.

I went on ebay and got a 3horse compressor for 30 bucks. I got a decent hplv gun from napa and have done 11 different gins and one maglite with no water trap.

LCW said no problem without a filter, which surprised me. I would not want to risk oil or water contamination since I'm not using a diaphragm compressor. I installed a water/oil/particle filter inline and am having no trouble at 30psi or so.
