Sorry, I don’t own a DZ Hepburn, but a friend of mine does, and I’ve seen quite a few at the BPCS Silhouette matches that I attend. I know, and I’ve shot with the Owner of DZ Arms, he’s a very nice guy, and he makes a great rifle. To tell you the truth, I think Hepburns are kind of ugly though, they kind of remind me of an Auto 5 with the hump back look .
To it’s credit, it was the only black powder cartridge rifle that was designed from the ground up to be a match rifle, so it’s got some nice features, great trigger, and short lock time. The fit and finish on Dan’s rifles is superb, everyone I've seen has been well made. My friend loves his.
I own 3 Cody Ballard High-Walls, and a Shiloh Sharps 74 that I shoot in matches. I’ve just never warmed to the Hepburn action.
