Oh, I know the gap didn't cause the binding. I suppose the Sabres could have caused it.

However I do consider .008 awfully wide for a NIB gun.

And I also complained of the terrible trigger.
 
On the plus side, I think its great Smith pays postage both to factory and return. With new rules requiring air shipment at $25-$30 each way this is a savings.
 
I had a terrible trigger even after I took it to a local smith and paid for a trigger job. I ended up using 600 grit sandpaper on a return slide(don't know the correct term). Its a slide bar that the trigger return spring moves back. After I polished that, it took care of the problem.:)
I'm sure some of the guys will help me out with the name.
