Anyone have experience with the EAA 9mm? Local shop has the full size 9mm for $500.

It looks like a large gun, would it be good for big hands?

I have an Armscor Mapp1 Ms which is basically the same as the EAA witness P and love the gun. Very accurate and dependable with mine being a 9mm with poly frame. Both the EAA and Armscor are both designed and parts supplied by Tagilifino out of Italy with minor differences. The Armscor is called the narrow frame in that the slides fit differently other than that the appearance of the two guns are the same. Parts however are not completely interchangeable such as conversion units and magazines.

Not sure if it is the same model, but I just got an EAA witness steel frame with a rail and the matched .22 kit for $375.

If it is the Elite Match, go for it. Mine is the most accurate hadgun I own.

Did someone say Witness Elite Match? I usually shoot this one better than my other pistols also, like CrazyO.

I've got 2 EAA's and like them both.

Here's my EAA EZ29

And my EAA Witness

Both are good guns.

I think $500 is high for a used EAA, about right for a new Witness.

The Witness guns were, originally, close clones of the CZ. As time passed, the designed diverged. Some of the changes (the guns are built by Tanfoglio) seem to be improvements.

Tanfoglio/Witness introduced a larger-framed version of the gun, some years back, for a .45 and 10mm version, and that larger frame size (which is still smaller in your hand than the CZ-97B) is now all that Witness offers for new weapons.

The guns are well designed and run well. The only problem anyone has is with Witness is their customer service, which may be improving. (There are one or two key people in their operation that have, over the years, really irritated and aggravated customers who had Witness problems.) Their parts department personnel are good to work with.

I've had a bunch of Witnesses over the years, and really like them. Have had CZs, too, and like them as well.

If the model mentioned in the original post is a standard Witness 9mm, not a Match or similar upgrade, or if it's a used standard, $500 is too much. If it's new and one of the fancier models, the price may be OK. Check out prices on Gun Broker or Auction Arms to verify what you should consider paying.

Well, the large frame is all that EAA is currently importing. AIUI, Tanfoglio makes Witnesses in the small frame size and sells them in Europe and other places. If anyone's really interested in all the in's and out's of Witnesses, there are a couple of folders on the brianenos.com forums that focus on them.

If it's any of the Tanfoglio made guns it will be excellent, but as already noted $500 would be the price for a Winess Elite Match. I think the steel and polymer frame standard models are usually closer to $400. I've had an older polymer frame 9mm for many years which is a fine carry gun. I also have an Elite Match in .40 which I don't think can be touched for accuracy by any other pistol under $1k.
