Been looking for a new handgun for 3 gun and came across this. I never really looked into them but man do they look sweet. Living in NY, I'm only allowed 10rd mags unless the mag was made before the AWB. Anyone know if any preban mags will fit these? Do the mags that fit the EEA Witness fit the Match?

Also would love to hear any feedback from you guys.

Thanks
Adam

I have a Witness Elite Match in 45acp and 38 Super, I run this guns in compettion at our local range,(steel plate challenge). These guns have been amazing along side my CZ's.
Don't know about the mags you are talking about however.

There is no difference between elite-series (including the Match) mags and non-elite mags. However, there is a difference between small-frame and large-frame. These days, everything EAA imports is large-frame. Years ago, however, it's mu understanding that some small-frame models made their way to these shores. Mags for those guns are not interchangeable.

I have a small frame and a big frame. It is mostly an ergonomic question. I shoot the long frame elite match better than the short frame but I think that is more the round (38 super vs. 40s&w).

Great guns, no hesitation in buying one.

The current match is part of the witness line "elit" line of witness handguns. They are a great match, range or house gun. To darn heavy for most to carry.

Check http://henningshootsguns.com/ for all kinds of competition or up grade parts and accessories. The best part?? Buy that 9mm and deside you want a .22lr, 38super, 40sw , 45acp or 10mm you can by just the upper and mags and your ready for a quick swap.

I love mine. Never have had any trouble with it. The SA only trigger is really sweet. I think they are excellent guns for the money. Here's my Elite. I've also got a compact. I'm impressed with the Tanfoglios that I own.

I just can't get over how damn sexy these guns are. Even without holding it, I know it will fit me like a glove.

I did find some reference to preban mags, so I'll look into it a bit more. Thanks for the feedback guys.

I've been wanting a elite match 9mm too. I don't mean to hijack the thread, but does anyone know if you can order replacement parts from EAA instead of sending your gun back to them in the event of a breakage? I've been searching for this but cannot find any info. I would rather do minor repairs myself instead of dealing with EAA's questionable customer service.

The Matches take standard EAA magazines. I have a 9mm and a 45. The 9mm is the large frame so in that caliber you will need the large frame magazines and any replacements will likely need the base pads sanded in order to fit. My 45 works great with the EAA mags and a couple of Mec-Gar mags I picked up when I got my P Carry. Not sure on pre-ban mags, you'd need to call EAA. Or just get the Match in 45, it comes with 10 round mags.

I had the reg blued 9mm all steel and loved it! Mine also had the .22slide which worked great also

I searched high and low for a distributor that would ship an EAA elite match into NY without mags and let me try to find some 10 rounders for it. I gave up and got a cz75. I'd bet a dollar that you and I go to the same local shop (tim's on route 5) and I suspect you will not have much better luck.

You might consider a good look at the cz75 line-up, they do cost a bit more, but mine (cz75b in 40sw) has been a dream. You have a chance of finding NYS legal hicaps for the cz as well, and you might like the look / feel of the phantom.

You are indeed correct. I planned on calling Dennis today to see if they could get me one. Sounds like I should start looking at something different.

Thanks for the heads up.
