So I've been eyeballing the RIA/Armscor MAPP pistol at my local farmstore.

Issue is, the price they have listed is only for the 22 TCM 9R model without a 9mm conversion barrel. I know that RIA offers a kit with both, but ordering one with both barrels is about $200 more.

I really like the idea of 22 TCM, but I also don't like the idea of being stuck with it in the long haul if support goes. That is why I want the 9mm and 22 TCM model.

So, I have seen EAA witness barrels for sale in all calibers and lengths for around $100-130.

Will an EAA Witness 9mm barrel fit into the RIA MAPP pistol considering both are basically identical Tanfoglio sourced handguns?

EAA/Tanfo barrels aren't necessarily drop-in even when they're a direct replacement. When they sell caliber conversions, they sell the whole upper, with whatever fitting necessary done between that particular slide and barrel. Could it work? IDK, maybe. Is it sure to work? I wouldn't absolutely count on it.

Interesting on the "not necessarily drop-on"

I just spoke with RIA customer service. They were great. But basically, for the MAPP series, they do not offer a conversion kit like with the 1911. They do sell a barrel, which is Tanfoglio, but claim "may need gunsmithing for proper fit". Not sure if that's lawyer speak or actually true. I may have to see if I can get a true 9mm upper.

With the MAPP series, they did give me the breakdown of recoil spring weights.
Here's the transcript mildly edited for space of our interaction. I am a fan of RIA CS.

RIA CS: We do offer the 9MM barrel that will fit the MAPP in our sister website where we sell our parts and ammo:
https://advancedtact…oducts/tangfolio-9mm-ms-barrelProducts | Advanced TacticalShop Advanced Tactical for great deals on Armscor ammo, grips, cleaning kits, magazines, parts, gear, apparel and much more.

Also take note: Proper gunsmith fitting required for accurate fit & safe function, if you are converting the MAPP22TCM9R into 9MM

Me: So is this the same barrel that is included with the 9mm/22 tcm Mapp kit?

RIA CS: We do not offer combo caliber in our MAPP Series

Me: Will I need to change out a recoil spring witht he barrel swap?

RIA CS: Yes

9MM Recoil Spring Weight:
Full Size: 12lbs
Mid-Size: 14lbs
Compact Size: 16lbs

22TCM Recoil Spring Weight:
Full Size: 7lbs
Mid-Size: 8lbs

"may need gunsmithing for proper fit". Not sure if that's lawyer speak or actually true.

That's basically the same thing that I was saying! Of course, I happen to be a lawyer... ;)

Basically, you just have to understand that Tanfo's (in all their badgings/brandings) aren't Glocks. They have manufacturing variances. Sometimes stuff drops in, sometimes it doesn't. If you're used to lego-like Glocks and AR's, this can be a frustrating and unwelcome surprise. If you're used to 1911's and revolvers, this is just normal and what you would expect.
