I am debating on getting one of these two full size 10mms. Please give the pros and cons of both, they are close to the same price.

Glock:

Pros: durable, accessory rail, lighter might be easier to carry, Glock customer service, less metal that can rust, 15+1 capacity, decent after market, alot of holsters

Cons: Big grip, lighter weight might not dampen the recoil as well, DAO trigger isnt as good, no adjustable sights, bad ergonomics(in my opinion)

EAA Match:

Pros: Accurate, match grade barrel, adjustable sights, smaller grip, better ergonomics(IMO), 15+1 capacity, awesome SAO trigger, over travel pins, good after market parts, caliber conversions, solid design, heavier weight might dampen recoil better

Cons: Shoddy customer service, better chance of getting a lemon, no rail, heavier weight might be harder to carry, availability of magazines, brass hard to find because they are sent into orbit(ive had them go close to 40ft away), few holster options

I came up with these off the top of my head. There are some im forgetting im sure. I voted for the Witness because ive owned 2 Glocks and will never own one again.

Nothing against Glocks here. The G20 is just too big for my hand, but my Witness 10 with slimmed grips fits me just fine.

I can extract far better accuracy from a CZ type trigger than
a Glock trigger. Others may have different results.

Holsters may be hard to find for the Match, but they are proving to be fine guns.

One additional for the EAA, if you shoot then decide the 10mm is not for you, conversion kits at about $250 let you go to .45ACP, .40SW, .38 Super, 9mm, .22

I voted EAA Witness. I love my Elite Match. And not only can you get whole new top ends, but for $110 you can get a 40 S&W barrel. Or get a couple of 9mm or 38 super barrels and have one reamed to 357 sig, and the other reamed to 9X25. You will have a 4 cartridge gun for under $1000.

I loved my Glock too, but ultimately I am a cocked and locked guy, so it was sold.

If you need a holster, call up Eric at hbe leatherworks. He can make you whatever you want.

Great points about the different caliber swaps for the EAA, can someone provide a website that has the conversion kits for the best price? I've been wanting a .38 super too and it'd be great to get these two calibers for under $700 bucks.

For me, the pros and cons for each pistol are as followed:

Glock Pros:
It's durable in hunting and carry situations
Adding night sights would be a breeze
Lighter for carry
Equipment Rail

Glock Cons:
Not as accurate
Trigger isn't as good
Felt recoil will be more
All glocks look the same (I have a g22 and g29)

Elite Pros:
Match Barrel
Great Trigger
All Steel for better controllability and less felt recoil
Flashy looking

Elite Cons:
Night sights available?
Durability (This is more of a range/match gun)
No equipment rail
Harder to carry
Lesser accessories available (ie lasers)
Rust prone

This is going to be a hard choice to make. I am sold on the Elite's accuracy and trigger, those are most important. But when you look at the durability of the Glock, it has a multi-purpose feel as to the Elite being mostly a range plinker.

Please continue the discussion and poll as I have not made a choice yet.

Thanks!

EAA's website under parts you can order new uppers (slide, barrel, recoil spring/rod). You can also get just barrels if the conversion you are looking for is compatible with the breech face of your current caliber.

On a Glock, I would look to Lone Wolf. They will apparently tackle about any caliber you want. They also sell barrels and pre-made conversions in standard calibers.

sites like midwayusa.com, matchezss.com and cheaperthandirt.com sell Witness parts. Theres alot more options out there than what the EAA selss. tanfoglioparts.com is also another good site for accessories

As of October 11, 2008 @ 11:18 central, the poll is a draw between the two guns. Wow,this is an interesting poll to me.

I voted EAA Elite Match because I have them in 10mm which was my first, and I like it so much I eventually ended up with them in 9mm, .40S&W, and .45ACP. I already had the Standard Witness and the four caliber conversions and think dollar for dollar the Elite Match is about the best gun for the money on the market today, only the RIA "Tactical" .45ACP comes close and it now costs about as much as the Elite Match.

I only have Glock 17 & 21, they just don't fit me well and I hate the trigger pull. But I would buy a Glock 20SF if they ever made it.

If anything gets me to buy a gun in .38Super it'll be the Elite Match to complete the set :)
