It didn't dawn on me at the time, but yesterday was Earth Day. Who else celebrated by burying lead, and discharging lead, sulfur, and mercury compounds into the air?

I celebrated Earth Day in the most classic liberal sense, but taking it upon myself to take waste items, reuse and recycle them!

I reloaded 50 rounds.

Since yesterday was a makeup snow day...I guess I celebrated by not driving to school, limiting the dispersal of dangerous Earth-killing smoke and such.

The earth is so polluted
I could never walk barefoot-ouch
On Earth Day I wanted to plant a tree
But I planted my ass on the couch
I try to eat what's good for me
But I like Captain Crunch
With an extra large Snickers bar
And a glass of Hawaiian Punch

I celebrated Earth Day by going to the store and buying a nasty black assault pistol(Walther P22) and then going to the range and putting about 250 rounds downrange. With the accompaning powder smoke. I love my planet.

After coming home from a 4 day business trip, I spent a day working out of the house and planted some tomatoes and tiger lillies with my son. He painted flower pots at pre-school while I was away.

Later that day, I went to Fed Ex to ship a shotgun to Mac's Shootin' Irons for a refinish.

The day after Earth Day, today, I picked up my new FN HP and am about to head off to the range.

A solid mix of Earth Day pleasures. :)

At work I sawed an entire forest into 8 ft blocks which will later be rendered into plywood. Beat that one! :neener:

I celebrated earth day in a very low-key way. I just stayed here on Earth, avoiding any unnecessary off-world travel.

Fine place we've got here.

Earth Day - what the hell is earth day. Oh wait - I remember - wasn't that something the tree huggers started back in the 70's or somewhen?

I smoked some ribs thus polluting the atmosphere and being responsible for the deaths of a tree or two.

I drove my car thus contributing to global warming.

I ate corned beef which is made with evil water polluting chemicals.

OTOH - the tree huggers would be proud - I didn't mow my yard yesterday thus sparing the gentle lives of many helpless leaves of grass.

I'm gonna kill the little green suckers today though - in fact sometime in the next hour.

I wonder if the tree huggers will feel their pain and hear their tiny little screams as the sharpened blades of steel cut thru their tender little green bodies.

You know, back 10 years ago I used to love Earth Day. It never really occurred to me it was a 'leftist' party, just something to celebrate spring with, watch the pseudo-hippies dance and ride my Cannondale through. New technologies were presented (bio diesel/hybrid cars/solar power/etc) and I found it fascinating. I still have that cornstarch pen somewhere...

And then, something happened. Earth Day just didn't have the same oomph it used to have. Hardly anyone showed up at the last few ED's in DC or (in my case) Omaha at the Heartland Park. Speakers were increasingly angry over some cause or another, and I'm just not into hateful people.

Oh well. So much for that. I shot trap and worked on my smoky 2-stroke outboard.

I celebrated by installing some retaining wall stones for a rock garden for my Bride.

.....AND......

........picking up a used Winchester 1300 black synthetic that was on a nics delay......only had to wait 18 hours for the nics folks to clear to "proceed" status. Thought that the nics deal was 'sposed to be "instant".......ahhhh, bureaucracy. :fire:

Didn't realize it was yesterday, but I filled a grocery store bag with other people's trash from the small lake I was fishing at. I HATE seeing trash that others have left behind. If you want to drop your Dr. Peper can on the gound, you can do so in your own back yard.

After that I launched a few hundred rounds at steel plates after fixing my eeeeeeeevil AR. BTW, it is possible to fire an AR without the buffer (oops). :banghead:
