Hi fellow shooters!

My buddy has a Ruger SR556cl AR that he wants to put a quad rail on. What would be the best way to do this? Obviously the SR556 is a little different in that it doesn't have a delta ring, so I'm curious what options he has for a quad rail?

Thanks!

Do like I did. Sell the stupid thing and buy a normal AR lol

Thats an ignorant comment. The Ruger is actually superior to a standard AR in many ways. Action stays clean and cool, doesnt carbon itself up. They didnt scrimp on the 556, I'd put it up with ACR/Scar for a piston rifle.

Not worth the extra weight and incompatibility with standard AR handguards.

An AK will out do any AR in regards to reliability. I thought it was generally accepted that the guy who wants to roll in the mud and never worry about his weapon malfunctioning shoots an AK varriant and the guy who likes ergonomics and ease of carry uses an AR..

I think a lot of people agree with Swampcrawler ... and it is first hand experience with the SR556. Of course for those who like the Ruger AR, it is annoying. :D

My input is that full quad rails are falling out of favor so he might be happier in the long run getting add on rail strips just where he needs them on the tube.

Thanks guys, I didn't know that Ruger had rail strips available for the handguard.

Tell that to the owner of any number of crappy AKs that have made over the years (IO rifles, Lancasters, 1st-gens PAPs, WASRs with poorly-opened magwells, etc.).
