East Texas Boar

I have been hunting this boar for several months and finally killed him tonight. I shot him with my Blaser R-93 Professional Tracker in 308 topped with a Leupold VX III 1.5-5 illuminated reticle loaded with 170 gr round nose Corelokt, 46.5 grs Varget, CCI 250 primer in Lapua brass.

He ran about 40 yards, and I had to get my Lab pup, Annie, to locate him for me.

I tried to weigh him, but he bottomed out my 200 pound scale. I estimate him to weigh between 250 and 275 pounds.

Yeah thats a big dude. I am going this weekend to my buddies place in Corrsicanna. Last weekend his brother shot a 400 pounder there.

Keep up the good work. I was supposed to head up this weekend but after turning in close to 40hrs last weekend followed by the regular work week, I decided to just stick close to home.
