A little late for the holidays, but figured I'd give it a shot after the idea popped into my head. This is my first attempt at something like this, so I'm looking for comments/criticism to help me improve.

I love it! The only thing I would change would be to make the text a little more "fancy" looking.
 
I'm gonna play a game.... "Guess the 1911"

Those look like the side profile of Heine sights, unusual hammer, and the slide serrations that far apart... is it a Taurus 1911? (Not being sarcastic, It's an honest guess)
 
Slide serations and hammer are not right for a taurus, it looks like a standard commander hammer...not quite sure what make though...

yeah, it's a Taurus. Awesome guess with so little to go on (Taurus billboard on slide was edited out for aesthetics).

The hammer is hard to see in the shot, since I picked this angle for the shot because it hides the lock on the hammer, which I have yet to replace.
 
Hmm...all the pictures I've seen of the taurus have some kind of cross between the commander and a skeleton. Oh well, the owner certainly would know, whouldn't he?

A responsible twist on all the "A-T-F" pics floating around these parts.

I still remember a bad incident where somebody showed up with loaded gun at a firing range while staggering drunk and proceeded to get into the rangemaster's chili. Unfortunately, the rangemaster was me... :(

Revised! Thanks for comments, feel free to add more.

Here's a revised version. Went with a serif font (the little lips on the characters) and dropped "do" from the wording.

I think I might try shooting the photo again with the glass moved, as it currently makes "...Responsibly" hard to read due to lack of contrast.

Actually, I prefer the "do carry" wording, as the phrase then matches the rhythm (and thus more clearly alludes to) "Eat, drink and be merry."
