EBR -- Got Bayos?
If I have my US military history straight, the last bayonet charge was in Korea, led by MOH winner, Col. Millet (I met the guy in MA at Ft. Devens). I could be sloppy about the "last" part, but my point is that the bayonet is pretty much an anachronism.
Still, most EBR's come with a bayo lug. So, do you have the bayo for the rifle?
This might appropriately be posted in "edged whatever," but I'm posting it as a "General Discussion" item because I'm generally curious.
The Mosins and Mausers all pretty much come bundled with a bayo, pouches, etc. I think it's a means of creating space in the warehouse. I've always been a bayo fan, since I was a little kid, before my parents let me have a firearm. They were OK with large knives.
Besides the Mauser & Mosin bayos, I got one for the AK, Kershaw M9 for the AR (which also fits on a Mossberg shotgun), and a shortened 1943 PAL for the Garand.
I don't plan any bayonet charges, but it seems like if the gun has a bayo lug, you should have the bayo.
