Only take a couple weekends a summer off from HighPower to shoot a few .22 Silhouette Fun Matches. Looking for something decent to throw on my 541-T that will shoot well enough to be semi-competitive...Any input?
Thanks Gary

Nitrex. Natchez often has them on sale 2-300$. Mine was $225 6-20x50 AO, there are several reticle to choose from. Target style turrets and mine has demonstrated good repeatability. Outstanding scope for the money. Mine is on a Brno#1, I'm very happy with it. A bit large for a walking around gun, otherwise very nice.

Thanks guys..yes was looking to stay $300 or less. Just a couple fun matches a year. Happy to put $3oo into my Geissle trigger for the HP Rifle but that sees 20 matches a year

The Mueller APV is a fine rimfire scope. AO for close work and up to 14X for longer range. I've had mine for six or seven years now, bought several scopes since that time and you need to spend 4-5 times the money to match the optical quality.

I would get a scope that doesn't require a coin to adjust the turrets. The APV is in fact a nice scope, but the APT (which is the APV with target turrets) is a better choice if you're going with Mueller. I think the APT is $20 more than the APV, but still well under $200.

Then there's the new Nikon P22 with a BDC reticle, which would be almost perfect for silhouette competition. The only problem I have with that particular scope is that it's weak on the power side, being just 2-7x32. Alternatively, you could select the Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 with BDC reticle. Both of these scopes also feature return-to-zero turrets, which the Mueller scopes lack. Again, both of theses scopes come in well below $200.

I own both three Nitrex and four Mueller scopes. I love the Mueller APV for .22's that require quality, inexpensive glass. The Nitrex scopes are in another class. Nitrex TR1 scopes are Weaver grand slams with a different power ring and TR2's are super slams...but at 50% of the cost. The glass on my Nitrex scopes is 95% light transmission and they very bright and clear. Natchez still has 6-20x50 w/AO TR1's in stock for $190...but in silver only. Burris Fullfield II, ask anyone that owns one and they'll tell you it's one great scope for the $$$ . The 4.5X14X42 scope with the Ballistic Plex reticle is very bright, even cranked up to 14X .
