ECP&W AK build

I have the chance to purchase a Romanian G AK rifle that is a rivet build on a NoDak Spud NDS-3 receiver. The builder of the rifle is Elite Custom Plating & Weaponry (ECP&W) based out of North Carolina. I have never seen nor heard of an AK build from these guys before. But I have heard of the company as they build a lot of high end race guns and do a lot of custom work on firearms of all types. The rifle looks absolutely beautiful and it looks to be a very high quality build. I have not shot it yet though, but the current owner claims it functions flawlessly. What say the experts here? Anyone ever heard of an AK build from these guys? Should I go for it or stay away?

Well, I went ahead and bought it. The pics are not mine, they are from the auction on Gunbroker. There were many other pics but I dont feel like loading them all up. I know its not a "true" G model as the furniture has been changed, but I hate the looks of that wooden fore grip anyways! Overall I think its a beautiful rifle and will give it a real good going over once I get it but Im happy with the price I paid considering how much AKs are going for these days. Will give a report when I have had a chance to shoot it.

With shipping it is a tad over $600. I dont think its that bad considering that WASRs are going for the same price these days.

They did a great job on the finish....Not a bad price at all for the times.
