View attachment 1065783 They quit making my favorite .45, the 97b, glad I bought one when I did.
Same here, and I'm kicking myself for not paying attention and picking up another 97 when they discontinued them a couple months ago and sellers were blowing them out for $600-$650. I have been watching them for years just to keep track of what they're selling for, then I happened to have stopped paying attention just about exactly when they were being cleared out. I'd like to have snagged a deal on a BD model. The 97 is a very underrated gun, maybe even sweeter-shooting than the 9mm 75Bs, SP-01s, etc.

I agree. Might me my best shooter. 30’ off hand
It wouldn’t be my 1st, 2nd or 5th choice for a carry gun though. It’s more like a crew served weapon, unless you’re built like Shaquille O’Neill
Good shooting!
How thick are those grips compared to the thin aluminum factory grips?

Mine came with the wood grips, which were too thick. I swapped them out for the Lok grips and it made a world of difference. Unfortunately I don’t have the stock aluminum grips for comparison but here’s a before and after of what I have.

Those look pretty thin. The factory aluminum grips measure 1.14" according to my caliper when measured in line with the attachment screws. I've wondered if there were any rubber/rubber clad grips that were close to that thin.

$600 to 650? I would have bought two more! I paid $850.00 for mine but then I rarely win on a gun buy. I see it I just gotta have it! They are going off the charts in some Gun Auctions now.

They'll probably get "discovered" now that they're discontinued. :) Just like the CZ 527s did -- they are bringing 2x what you could buy one for a year or two ago.
Here's how much I thought of my 97B after I put the CGW Ultra Lite Kit in it: I had a patinaed (from an acquaintance carrying it on duty, which added to the appeal of it for me) Kimber 1911 that I liked quite a bit, and was glad to have it. I'm almost ashamed to say it, but a few months after getting the 97B I found that I didn't shoot the 1911 anymore and I sold the 1911.

I couldn't bring myself to do that!

Yeah,me neither!!!

There's room in my safes for every family, regardless of action type, caliber, steel, aluminum, or polymer construction.

I have a P-01 and a P-07. I can’t decide between the two. Both are fantastic.

Me too and I like them both but for different reasons.

The P01 has that great Hi-Power-like grip shape and is a very nice size for a compact 9mm. It handles and balances perfectly, (well at least in my hand it does)!

The P07 has a really solid, well built feeling to it, and I love that I could easily change it from being a decocker type pistol to having a frame mounted safety, and done handily by me with the necessary parts being supplied with the gun!

I love that stainless (or nickel) Colt Commander!

Thanks, so do I a lot... and I do mean a lot!!!

It's a bright nickel plated Combat Commander, part of a limited run of pistols done by Colt's Custom Shop many years ago. It was accurized and tuned, has a Gold Cup trigger, and features an MMC rear sight. And yes it will go shot for shot with a Colt Gold Cup and without being the least bit choosy about the ammo it's fed.

I like the CZ compacts, though the P01 fits my hands better than the 75 compact somehow, it doesn’t make sense but it does.

This brings the hammer to a half cock position, thus the DA trigger pull is shorter. (note hammer position in photo) Unlike my Sig 229 & 226. Just a little easier to get off accurate DA rounds.

However, I settled with the opposite opinion. Maybe because of hand size I just shoot a classic Sig double action better than a CZ. I’ve run the side by sides enough times to accept it.

Still need to add a nice compact CZ to the collection some day. Was just ogling a PCR today while I waited for my background check to clear for something else, in fact.

After re-reading this thread and watching an old Gun Stories (with Joe Mantegna) episode devoted to the CZ-75 today, I've decided to up my CZ game and pick up a couple more CZ-75s (especially in view of the upcoming magazine capacity restrictions in my socialist state). I really like those gray and blue G10 grip panels the OP and SG1 have -- Hogues or VZs (guessin' I can do some websurfing). Also, @frogfurr, who makes those wood grip panels on yours?

Decided I need the PCR as a lighter alternative to my Compact. And another full size, just 'cause, CZ, you know...

I believe I got my PCR grips off of Amazon. They had them in different colors grip patterns, as well as different thickness and swell shapes. I went with the slim grips, which seem thinner than the factory rubber grips.
