Educate me about refinishing a chrome Smith

wow....I searched and found the "Black T" finish, called Walter Birdsong, and listend for a half hour as he educated me about metal finishes.

His finish provides not only a sealer impervious to rust and corrosion, but also provides a lubricant with a drag coefficient of .018 which means you never have to oil or grease a gun again.

$161 plus $20 shipping

4-6 week turnaround

I had/have one Bench-Made knife with Birdsong Black-T spray & bake finish.

It was scratched beyond belief after I used the knife to cut up some old carpet.

It was so fugly, I finally buffed it all off and polished the blade.

BTW: Don't let anyone tell you not to oil or grease a guns slide rails, or a revolvers working parts, etc.
If it moves, it needs lubrication.
