1. Is there a difference with the M&P model versus other SW 360?

2. Is there any thing I need to be specially aware of?

3. Is there "cleaning procedures"/ ammo peculiarities that I need to be aware of?

4. Any other comments????

I have the 'Airweight' 360--SKU 16030.

This is the 'cheaper" Chief's Special. It has the 357 Scandium frame, a steel 38 Sp. cylinder, the two-piece barrel, and a pinned ramp front sight, not a dot.

So far, I've used it as a daily carry for about six months, and I've shot perhaps 500 rounds through it--typically, reloads that replicate either "The 38+P FBI load" (158-gr., appr. 800 fps) or the GDSB 38+P 135-gr. load (135-gr., 860-900 fps).

It's accurate, of course, and the SA trigger is the best I've had on the various revolvers I own (all Smiths) save for the Pre-27 3.5" P&R.

The QC--fit and finish--is as good as any of their upper-line / Scandium framed revolvers. The 38+P cylinder fits my needs fine--I have no desire to shoot factory 357 Magnum loads from a 13.3 oz revolver.

Having said that, it is my second choice in a carry gun, as I prefer a DAO frame. So, first choice is my M&P 340, and second is this one. (Third is a 640, and 4th is a 3" Model 60, but those are different enough and carried differently.)

added on edit: For cleaning, I use the recommended products--Hoppe's "elite" series--and I also use CLP and lead remover cloth on the cylinder front. The cylinder has some typical lead staining--but the frame is spotless; that finish is really durable.

If you don't have one already, you may want to look at other threads here for discussions about SA/DA revolvers versus DAO for daily carry / pocket guns.
