I just started hunting with BP this year- a traditions in-line buckstalker. Question 1- if I hunt today and don't fire it, should I toss the load that is in it and start all over tomorrow, or de-prime and use it tomorrow after re-priming? Question 2- how long can I expect a box of these pellets to still function? I only open the box to get what I need out, and close it completely right after. Finally, if I load the thing and I am using a sabot projectile, is it sufficiently "sealed" internally to be trusted to work in damp/wet weather? Should I put a piece of tape over the muzzle too?

Tripple 7 is what I use. No need to unload even for long term storage, but over time it may loose some of it's power. Tape over the muzzle is an excellent idea, not only for a m/l too. I keep mine primed where legal as we have no kids. Added protection from moisture.

I use a vinyl finger cot over the end of my muzzleloader to help protect against the elements during hunting season. I also trim a short length of aquarium tubing to help seal the percussion cap / nipple.
