I know someone who shot a deer from a 3" 357 at 40 yards and dropped the thing like a rock, so with 6" of barrel you should be good out to quite a ways as long as you keep in practice
Somg good advice here. My limits; 180gr @ < 75 yards. (I might go 100 if I had a good scope, a good rest, and ideal shooting conditions.)
IMHO there are too many bones in a deer to use HPs I think shot through is best, incase you do need a blood trail.
