Anybody have any luck with one of these?
I just received mine, and seem to be having bad luck.
At first, I couldn't even reassemble the slide and barrel to the frame. After polishing the noted culprit, the base of the feed ramp (as directed in the single page instructions), it finally slid together.
Now, I find that the slide will release into battery...sometimes, as long as a) the chamber is empty w/no magazine, or b) when I place a round in the chamber w/o magazine.
It has not successfully chambered a round from the mag, and it gets "caught" just over a quarter of an inch out of battery. It appears the friction between the barrel and slide is too great with the recoil spring seeming to push vertically on the rear of the barrel.
What's worse, if I push down on the barrel to relieve the tension, it will appear to go into battery, but actually be about 1/16" out.
Obviously, I'm disappointed, as I was hoping to go to the range after work.
Any thoughts?
How much 'polishing' is too much/not enough?
Other info: I've got a new Wolfff recoil spring in there, and I'm using the .40 mags (as I was told I could do that with the 9mm)
Thanks in advance.
