Got my EGW ignition set: hard sear, commander hammer, disconnector, and sear spring $85 plus shipping.

Very good stuff!

I dropped the parts into my Springfield Loaded and after a couple dozen dry firing... NO BOOSTING.... I've got a pretty good (5lb or so) trigger. I don't have my scale unpacked, just moved, but I wanted to try it without any stoning and I have to say I am happy.

The sear has no secondary angle and the hammer hooks are .030 deep! I was expecting an uber-heavy pull but it's right in the ballpark of what I want.

Thanks George! I'll be saving up for another soon .

Edited: Oops, I posted in gunsmithing section....

I think it's a new package deal...

I got an extra hard sear too, wanted to rid myself of the POS sears on my Springfields. Swapping just the sear on my Springfield G.I. gave me a very nice trigger pull too, and peace of mind...

Now I have one Springfield left to upgrade

How about the range test.. Ive been thinking on changing out the ignition set on my springfield loaded and Smith 1911sc...

:D Got to the range today anyways :D

Trigger feels nice, I got used to it pretty fast. Feels smoother even now...

I'm still going to leave the hooks at .030 just for peace of mind.... I like having the extra material.

My G.I. model with the dropped in Hard Sear also felt very nice from beginning to end.

I'm a firm believer in EGW's parts

EGW parts are great. Their sears are the only ones I use. George and crew there are top notch. The ignition sets are a bangin' deal too, $85 for all that! Compare that to $120+ for some other "big name" sets.

OK..jumping on the EGW bandwagon...

great guys...great shop...George builds great parts..and he builds great guns..He has done a couple of full build guns and a couple of partial builds..all have been fantastic..

you will not go wrong with parts or custom work from EGW and George.

EGW's facility used to be right around the corner from me when they were in Doylestown, now they are 10 miles up the road from me in Quakertown. They have worked on a couple of my guns, and they are first rate, although their work backlog is huge. If you are patient to wait for a gun to be worked on you will not be disapointed with the results. George Smith has an encyclopedic knowledge of firearms, he is one of the most interesting people you will meet with to talk about this subject.
