Just finished watching this movie a bit ago, and I actually know a guy who was one of the extras in it--you can see him on the back cover of the DVD box. Dude with the guitar.
I don't know how many of you have seen "Zero Day"--which I caught myself a while back--but that movie was ever so much better when it came to realism. The boys in ZD stole the guns from one's father and a relative, and directly addressed the issues of obtaining weaponry, pipe bombs, etc. They even talk about how what they're doing is illegal.
Elephant has them get an AR with ammo directly mailed to their house. Nice trick for a pair of high-school kids, let me tell you. There's also a silly scene with them shooting at a pile of wood testing the rifle out immediately after getting it... and, well, I don't know about you folks, but I've never had any combinations of copper+lead+wood cause any sparks. Plus, shooting a rifle--which may have been carbine-length, I'm not remembering right now--in an enclosed space, no hearing/eye protection, yadda, yadda, yadda.
Anybody else seen either of these and have any opinions?
