Just checked, Lyman lists max load for this rifle as 48 grains 3031 with a 405 grain soft point. so This load is posted for entertainment purposes only.

in the 1886 Keith used 53 grains of 3031 with a 405 grain jacketed soft point bullet.
This developed 1850 fps and around 36,000 psi.
He also recomends this load for the 1895 marlin.

Remember though componets may have changed since then, always work up loads carefully.
