Emerson Mini CQC-7 Wave

I just got my Emerson Mini CQC-7 Wave in the mail today and it is so far everything I was looking for in a knife. The wave works great, it is shaving sharp, and it feels very sturdy (it is to early to tell for sure though). It also has a longer handle then most knives I have seen with this blade length which makes it easier to control. The only problem is that since it is so sturdily built, it is rather "bulky" The handle/blade are very thick and the lock is slightly harder to disengage then I like but it isn't bad. I think that these slight downfalls won't be a problem since I think that they will make the knife last much longer then it would otherwise. As of now, I would recomend it to anyone looking for a mid sized folder.

Ouch! ****! I just tried to close the blade and that lock didn't disengage, my finger slipped from the flat side (right side) across the serrations and sliced my finger.

And now I got blood on my keyboard. Guess I should have stopped the bleeding before typing.

haven't handled the emerson's myself but i'd imagine the mechanism will loosen up a little over time.

Hopefully you don't lose too much blood before that happens.

Nice! The wave has intrigued me for a while. I have some questions as to how reliable/safe it is that would better be answered by trying it out myself.

Seriously though, do you think it's really that much better than other systems? I mean clearly it's fast, but is it reliable and safe?

It is very reliable and near impossible to do on unintentionally so it is safe.

I rotate two different Emersons in my EDC. The wave feature is awesome, and in the two years, I have never seen the lock fail. Great choice!
