Just received an e-mail from Cabelas with a coupon that started that if i printed and brought the coupon into the store. I will get employ pricing on everything till 1/5/2011.....anyone else?
i get a card 4 times a year...i have a good friend that is the manager of the gun library that sends it to me....but i think this is from the company and has nothing to due with knowing him. The employ pricing verys from item to item....usually comes out to %25 off
don't get too excited about the discount. when I worked there at best there was 10% (5% was more common)on guns and optics. on a number of guns there wasn't any discount. it is a little better on Cabela's brand optics and was pretty good on Cabela's brand clothing. little if any discount on ammo. if you was expecting a lot you will be disappointed.
For real savings they will sometimes send to Cabela's Visa holders coupons for up to $100 off anything you buy with it in the store. (The $100 is for purchases of $500 or more; smaller purchases get a progressively smaller discount. It is also in-store only, AFAIK.) It is up to you, of course, to pay the bill when you get it.
I used it yesterday to buy a couple of things. The bargain cave stuff wasn't discounted at all. The sleeping bag stuff sack, bullets, and the snap caps were about 20% off.
the price you pay is on the tag in the bargain cave. it has been 10 years since I worked but there was a pretty good employee discount in the bargain cave but that changed a several years ago.
I got a little over 10% off on some reloading and cleaning stuff yesterday. One of the guys working there said it would only come to about 5% on most firearms and ammo.
I actually called the Cabela's in Hamburg, PA before traveling up and inquired about the "employee pricing." I was told it is anywhere from 5-25% depending on the item.
I ended up spending $245 and after the coupon got out for $220, around 10% off.
You are better off using the $20 off $150 or more, or the ones that allow 20, 50, 100, 150 off depending on the amount purchased.
I know you can get 10% with your MIL ID anytime from them or Bass Pro.
I used my card on Friday and got 10-25% off everything that wasn't on sale. I (and the wife) bought powder, primers, ammo, wrapping paper, and 2 shirts out of the bargain cave (30% off the sale price, but not employee pricing). On top of that, the clerk also took my "$20 off on a $100 purchase" card and applied that, too, so I wound up spending $145 on what was $200 worth of stuff at the start.
The good thing is that you can use the employee pricing card as many times as you'd like until 1/5. At least, that's what the clerk told me.
The store near me ( Owatonna) has really poor service. I went in to buy a scope with a gift certificate and got no service at all. One busy guy at the entire gun and scope department, and no one at all in the bargain cave. I ran out of time and left. Not the first time. I'll be buying on line. Oh and the guy at the counter spent all his time bsing with tire kicking gun non buyers ignoring everyone else. Hard to get good help I guess.
got a savage93r17 for $225 was marked $270 reg...got a pine ridge scope 3-12x40 was marked $120 got it for $90... Leupold rings marked $20 got em for $15..saved me $90...i'm happy
