I have two of those India rifles, the Enfield 2A models, one is basically fine, the wood is acceptable (not ideal, but acceptable), whereas the other one is less than acceptable since parts of the wood rotted and broke off... I am in need of a new stock.

Rather than buying more crappy Indian wood stocks, does anybody know of a place for a synthetic stock?

Also, a scope mount would be really nice as well.

Thanks

I'm currently fitting an ATI synthetic stock to my Enfield 2A. It fits perfectly, except for right around where the barrel and receiver mate. A bit of dremel work and it will be done.

The stock is very solid, well worth the $50. It won't win any beauty contests, but this is a beater-rifle project.

Eric F, I'm curious about that mount from J&G. Would you happen to know if this is a forward or "scout" mount? It implies that it is, e.g. that it replaces the rear sight, which would put it forward of the receiver. I'm looking for such a mount. I've seen several "receiver" mounts for the 2A, and B-square apparently used to make a forward/scout mount that replaced the rear sight, but I cannot find anybody with it in stock.

I paid ~$100 for a 2A1 with a rotten stock a couple of years ago. Excellent bore and metal, but the wood was crumbling. I had my gunsmith cut the barrel down to 19" and recrown. I put on an ATI stock, B-Square mount and LER scope. Since the paint on mine was about 90% I didn't strip it off but used auto touch-up paint to make it 100%.

The ATI stock works, and installed without modification, but is heavy. As a result, my "pseudo-Scout" weighs ~8 lbs.

I was disappointed with how light the ATI Mosin stock was so I just sold my 2A instead of messing with it
If you have had any experience for comparison is the Enfield stock heavier

I have no knowledge on this particular scope mount I just did an internet search for thig person and that is what I found. On my RFI no5 I broke the clip on wood stok for the top of the barrel and was upset but then I cut the iron sights off and welded a scout type mount on with a cheap 2x optic turned out to be the best thing I ever did I had alot of coments on it and sold it for $450 to a guy localy. I have since don the same thing to a couple of jungle crabines.
