I'm looking for a particular Ruger 10/22 stock and I'm not having any luck.

What I want is something in nice looking wood, that is basically the same form factor as the standard sporter stock, but for the .920" barrel.

I can find swoopy scope stocks in nice wood. I can find synthetic stocks like what I describe above. Am I just missing something obvious?

Can you really get a decent sight through iron sights on one of those swoopy things?

Something like this wood:

Or this:

The first one looks like it sits high for a scope too. The second has something that looks pretty nice:

That's pretty close to what I'm talking about. But yeesh they're proud of it.

While you're looking, take a look at Richard's Microfit. He has a lot of designs. I've found that the Tac-Driver works great for scope use. The cheek piece is left a bit high so you can adjust it to fit your face and scope height. It's also a pretty stable platform for both off-hand and bench use. It's heavy though, if that's a concern.

I looked at Boyd's. Pretty much everything they make is designed to stick your eye high up behind a scope. I want pretty wood and the ability to use iron sights or a scope. I'm thinking of using a GM bull barrel with fire sights and either see through scope rings or quick release rings.

Thanks. I found a place selling the standard Ruger stock shown above for $72, so I ordered one earlier today. I'll keep that other stock in mind if I decide to eventually change out for something more unconventional looking.
