I just purchased an Enfield No.4 Mk1 manufactured in '43 of Gun Broker, giving me a chance to dust off my C&R. This is my second Enfield and unlike my other, it has a rather nice stock and will be kept original (my other has to wear an Advanced Technology stock as the original was severely cracked and scarred).

I'm absolutely thrilled with this specimen, heck... the bore is nearly mirror bright with sharp rifling. However, I noticed something that caught my attention: The trigger always has free front-to-rear movement, about 1/2" and it indeed makes a jingling noise when doing so. It in no way affects the function and dryfires fine, but it's quite annoying and does this regardless if the rifle is cocked or not.
My other Enfield has a sloppy trigger as well, but with about half the movement.

Is there some remedy to address this issue?

Thanks!

The trigger on my 2A1 has a little less play in it and doesn't rattle, but it's the nature of the beast to have a loose trigger. I think it was improved on the No.4 over the earlier versions by hanging it from the receiver instead of the trigger guard, is that correct?
