Okay, I just did a search for this, but I couldn't find it. IIRC it's been discussed before and if it has please link me to it....

Does anyone know what kind of engineering would be involved in making an M14, CETME, or FAL detatchable 20 round mag work with a Mauser action?

Back in WWI, the Germans made some 20 round mags for their Mausers. Fairly recently I saw some repros for sale. I think I saw some at a gun show and possibly on e-bay as well. I'd try that route first.

Seems to me someone made some new production or retrofitted Lee-Enfields that took/take 20 round .308 mags of some type. But now can't find it. However, in searching for it, I found this:

I find it rather amusing that a replica of a Lee Enfield costs more than an actual rifle, whereas the other replicas for sale there cost less (sometimes much less) than the real thing.

Back to your regularly-scheduled thread...

Fixed or detachable?
edited: oooops. I need to read a little better.

The hard part is going to be finding a location for the mag release. There is some rifle out there that has the magazine latch on the magazine rather than the gun. I think it is the MAS 49, but I'm not sure.

Anyhow, that may be an easier solution

ROBAR and a few other companies have Remington 700 actions with M14 detachable mags. Perhaps you could get an idea from there.
