Engraved 1911 grips

I need some recommendations on a source of custom laser engraved 1911 grips.

A buddy of mine has gotten a Colt GI for his dad who served in Vietnam. He wants to get a set of grips that have his unit insignia and '67-'68 engraved/carved on them as part of a present.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Those look spectacular. I can't believe I haven't heard of her before. Great, now I have one more item on my gotta have list.

Seriously though, glad I stumbled across this. It'll be nice to have a set of grips with an interesting back story instead of just another set of custom grips. Now I feel my 45 they'll eventually go on isn't worthy of the grips....

Actually I was eyeing the same pattern but with the celtic cross. Very stunning.

You could look at getting some smooth grips in the wood of your choice from Hogue, then having them engraved with what you want locally. I had a knife that was a gift for somebody engraved locally, and it turned out excellent. The shop I went to advertised laser engraving. Just food for thought.

Normally I'd recommend Wicked Grips, but they are backordered a year and a half...
