I bought the 6.5" 500 S&W back when it came out. Needless to say I knew ammo was rediculously high so I went ahead and ordered loading dies too. I have shot some extra stout loads out of this gun with punishing recoil. I really have never made an attempt in the past to try what you call light loads but here lately I have been working up loads or I should say experimenting with the big 500. I have found the 500 to be a very accurate gun and using the Lyman load data with Unique and a 350 gr. XTP the recoil is not an issue at all. I was surprised with the great accuracy I was getting with these loads. These light loads from the 500 are still more powerful than just about any 44 mag loading.
I was wandering if anybody else is discovering what a versatile loading gun the 500 actually is?
I loaded some test rounds with MBC 400 gr. crushers today with Unique that I'm expecting to be good shooters too.
