I bought the 6.5" 500 S&W back when it came out. Needless to say I knew ammo was rediculously high so I went ahead and ordered loading dies too. I have shot some extra stout loads out of this gun with punishing recoil. I really have never made an attempt in the past to try what you call light loads but here lately I have been working up loads or I should say experimenting with the big 500. I have found the 500 to be a very accurate gun and using the Lyman load data with Unique and a 350 gr. XTP the recoil is not an issue at all. I was surprised with the great accuracy I was getting with these loads. These light loads from the 500 are still more powerful than just about any 44 mag loading.
I was wandering if anybody else is discovering what a versatile loading gun the 500 actually is?
I loaded some test rounds with MBC 400 gr. crushers today with Unique that I'm expecting to be good shooters too.

I respect your desire for light loads and wouldn't want to judge you for it. But personally, I load to get everything I can from the amazing potential of that weapon and others that produce serious power house potential. H110 and some XTPs and I'll never want to stop loading and shooting the .357 mag., 41 mag, 44 mag., 454, and the 500 S&W.
