Has anyone used an Enterprise Arms FAL reciever for a build up? I was looking at a DSA Type 1 but they are pricy.... but the best so I am told. I am just wondering if the quality of the EA is good. I do not want to buy a cheeper reciever and get a cheep reciever if that makes sense.... its early. Any information or persnal experience would be great.

I have no personal experiece with Entreprise receivers however, if you look around over on the falfiles forum you will find that they have one of the worst reputations out there. According to peoples experiences on that board their receivers are routinely out of spec and are difficult to fix/replace due to their horrific customer service. I recently talked with GunpartsGuy, who sells kits/parts for FALs and various other firearms, about what receiver to use for a build I plan on doing. Entreprise was right there at the bottom of the barrel along with Vulcan/Hesse. He recommended either DSA or Dan Coonan (who is supposed to be doing a run of Type I receivers sometime in the near future).

Another option would be the new Ohio Rapid Fire receivers. I do not have any experience with these either but my current FAL was built by them on an Imbel Gear Logo receiver (also excellent receivers if you can get your hands on one). I am confident that their receivers are of very good quality.

Check out www.falfiles.com/forums, lots of good info over there.

I've heard mixed things about Enterprise recievers. Some people like them, and some people think they are not worth it. I went with DSA for some of my builds and Imbel for others. Dealer cost on the DSA receivers is $325. I paid my dealer the fee for list price, but only paid $325 for the receiver. See if you can work such a deal with your dealer.

I built two L1A1's on an Entre'prise Type 3 Inch pattern recievers. One timmed perfectly, the other required a barrel shim. Both were what is called "file to fit", as a lot of filing and smoothing on the bolt carrier "track" was required on the one that timmed good.

Both rifles function flawlessly, but it was a time consuming effort.
