I can't corroborate this with any online info. I heard at a local gun shop today that a part of the reason for the shortage is that the EPA has recently shut down 4 ammo factories by executive order.

Now, I know there is A LOT of false and conspiracist info going around right now. Can anyone provide any info to back this up? Thanks.

That's most likely a rumor created to keep ammo availability from getting better, which it already has (caused by the ridiculous prices?).

Some ammo prices already began to come down over a week ago, but none of the huge numbers of 'flippers' want you to be aware of it.

Widener's -for about a week- had 5.45x39 listed available, at .18/rd. until they sold out several days ago. I saw it on GunBot.

I can't imagine this is true, especially because I can find nothing to support it. If Obama tried something like that I'm pretty sure the NRA would have sent me 50 emails about it by now.
