Equipment List check for clueless Reloader

I have been searching the site for a while using search whenever I can to avoid asking the repetitive questions. I thank everyone for their informative posts that allowed me to learn from them. I have researched reloading as much as possible for what I feel my needs are (approx 500 rds 223 per month, 250 Rd's 308 per month and 200 Rd's of either 45, 10mm or 9mm per month) I have settled on the Lee turret and feel it is a good match for my budget/needs. The "Classic" seems to be a much nicer unit but the "kit" is not available. Below is my hand picked "kit" (from Midway). Please lend me your knowledge and let me know if I have everything and/or missed anything. I have already ordered a scale and will order the Lee Deluxe dies and possibly factory crimp die for intended calibers.

I think you will need a scale and add another good manual, Lyman or Speer are good choices.

You will also want to buy a caliper. I bought a digital first and then bought a dial caliper. I liked the dial caliper better but that might just be me. I just bought the Lee classic turret press and a lot of the same accessories that you have listed and am very happy with them. I only load 9mm for now but am hoping to start 223 soon. You will want a tumbler to clean your brass

This may be a silly questions, but why is it necessary to clean the brass?

Rifle brass must be clean, it can carry grit that will scratch up the steel sizing die. Doesn't mean it has to be polished, there are chemical cleaners or you could just wash it as some black powder shooters do. Or just wipe every case off by hand before you lube and size it. But that gets old.

Pistol brass can be sized in a carbide die as long as it does not have any clinging grit that will cut the cases. But it will load easier and chamber better if cleaned, and tumbling is a low-labor method.

I won't repeat the suggestions above, but I will suggest taking a look at some of the equipment, you may want to consider deleting a couple items.

Powder funnel for a turret? The powder is going though the powder feed die.

Unless you are going to do batch processing you may not need the lyman case tray.

Adjustable charge bar and a double disk kit? Those are two items doing the same job.

Get your C&R FFL $30 for 3 years, and you can save a bunch on your equipment.

Thanks for the replies and I appreciate the feedback...keep it coming!!. I do have a caliper and I ordered a tumbler and a scale already. I opted for the funnel because it's cheap and figured it may prove to be handy. The Double Disk and the charge bar...I dunno. I read a review that listed both and it stated they worked well together (I'm clueless....remember I am just paranoid about dumping the wrong amount of powder into my loads and having a "less than acceptable experience". I plan to weigh every reload I make to double check the powder charge (the finished product, not weight each powder charge).

I would still get the funnel. You should periodically weigh your thrown charges, and the funnel allows you to get the powder from the scale pan to the case.

I don't remember seeng a powder trickler, they are cheap, and handy to use, especially for rifle loading.

You might also want to get the Lee case trimmers for your desired calibers.

Good stuff!! I realized I needed the case trimming gadgets but forgot to include them-Thanks. I figured the case tray may come in handy if I use the press in the non-progressive/index mode which is appealing to me.
