Has anybody out there ever tried out or seen the Esmeralda Cocobolo Wood grips for 1911 pistols? If yes, what do you think of them? How is the workmanship and how would you compare them to other Wood Grips by other manufacturers?Would you highly recommend the Esmeralda Cocobolo Wood Grips?
THANKS.

I first saw them in one of the gun rags within the last 2 months. They received a good write up and looked nice. Also checked them out on her website.
If I were in the market for some grips, I'd give them a try.

Esmeralda Grips

American Handgunner had a one page feature article on her work in the Jan/Feb. or the Mar/Apr. issue . If the fit is as good as the look should be pretty good stuff.

Well,Preacherman, she's not bad on eyes the either. From the website I gather she may be quite the business-woman and with heart as well but she did not respond to my e-mail for a set of grips for my Colt Pocket Nine.Understandable in that it was only made the one year.

By the way, the article was in the Mar./Apr. American Handgunner issue.

I emailed her twice and she responded to me right away.I called in to place an order and she was very accomodating.I ended up ordering two sets of her grips.

I feel your pain. I could not find grips for my Pocket Nine, so I made my own. Now if I could learn to checker, I'd sell them.

Colt P-9 grips

:D Sunspot- Haken quoted me a price and his grips look good but I think I'm going to try my hand at making a set this Summer. I've got the checkering equipment and I've got re-cutting old checkering down pretty good.Starting from scratch,I'm sure, will be a whole new ballgame. I've just got to make myself stay with it and take my time. We've got a Club gun show coming up In mid- April- I plan on picking up a set of blanks from a vendor there. What wood did you go with? Are you practicing checkering at this point ?
What part of "Bama?I'm a B'ham transplant myself.
