Hi there,

i just saw this beauty - and wondered
if "Peters Stahl" is any name at all in the US?

i´ve often thought about exporting stuff from here - since the market is so much smaller due to laws.

Happy for input.

I've never seen a Peters Stahl in the US before. It almost looks like an Olympic Arms 1911, but what's that weird silver patch on the slide for? Anybody know?

O concur that the frame looks like an Olympic Arms. The slide, however, reminds me of the old Springfield Armory 'Omega', which, if memory serbes me, was in 10MM. The 10MM chambering would make it 'legal' in parts of Europe where possession of weapons in LE/Military chamberings is forbidden by civilians.

Peters Stahl was selling some bullseye type 1911'ish guns through competition oriented catalog companies. Don't know if they were any good or not.

At one time either Champions Choice or Champions Shooters upply used to sell the Peter Stahl pistols. They were designed for the bullseye pistol crowd.

IIRC, those guns had interchangeable barrels--.45acp, 10mm, and I-don't-know-what-else.

The "weird silver patch" is an extractor--they had two (look at the auction and see both sides of the pistol).

I was researching the Omega a couple years back because someone had a 10mm for sale at a very reasonable price ($650). There was a connection between Peters-Stahl and the Springfield Omega. Once again, from memory, the Peters-Stahl was the precursor and the Omega was the offspring.

In the end I passed because parts are reputed to be nearly impossible to come by for either one, and the 10mms had a reputation for breaking under full-power loads.

I guess it's value would depend on someone who really wants one. I do know that the Omega I was looking at stayed up for sale for an awful long time, and I don't know if it eventually sold or if the owner took it off the market.
