I took the plunge (against the advice of my FFL dealer) and bought a Charter Arms Pathfinder revolver in .22 magnum. Out of the box I checked to make sure it was unloaded. Next I pulled the hammer back. OK so far. Went to release the hammer and the trigger caught halfway and stuck. After working at it I got it loose. The cylinder release screw it tight but the botton itself is kinda wobbly. The cylinder was a bit stiff to get out and the ejector rod is REALLY gritty and some times won't return in all the way. The cylinder arm doesn't lock in flush because the barrel isn't on right. The fixed front sight is canted off to the left quite a bit because when they screwed the barrel in they didn't get it lined up with the frame.. So I am waiting for a return label to send it to the factory for a look. Tiny bit disappointed in my purchase.:banghead:

I smell something here. If you actually bought this gun with that much stuff wrong with it, you deserve it. CajunBass is correct, did you look at it?

I ordered it online. I waited a week for delivery. When I picked it up I was trying to get home after a really long day(s) at work and was so tired I just gave it a glance in the box and went on home and passed out. Got a good look at it the following night when I got home from the job. They tout a lifetime warrenty and I am taking full advantage of it. It was shipped back this afternoon. Will see what comes back.

Besides that how was it? Just kidding. I have 2 charter Arms one is a 44 spc Bulldog Pug, my third one. I love these little hand cannons . They are light and small enough to cc and pack a heck of a wallop.I also have a 38 Undercover that has a very smooth action and is smaller than the Pug. I have handled a few that felt like they had square bearings in them so maybe it's the luck of the draw. Please let us know about their warranty service.

I understand how many people EXPECT a new gun to work right out of the box. I am one of them. But you really need to do at least a cursory examination before putting down the money. But I know, you had already paid for it via an online retailer. Oh well.... good luck with this one.

I usually order online because the FFL dealers near my home carry nothing I am ever interested in. (Very limited stock) I have ordered 15 firearms this way and have not had a problem. (But now I have.) I will continue to purchase this way as it is the only way to get what I want. I guess I could drive an hour and a half to find a bigger gunstore but I just never have the time. Was going to use this .22 for my CCW class. I'll dust off one of the Ruger SP-101's I guess. Use up some of my .327 ammo. :) I'm glad they gave me a little time off to take the class. I've been on call every weekend for two years. It sucks, but it's a job and that put's food on the table. I like to eat..:D
