First gun I carried was a Gen 2 G19. That was in 2000. Sold it around 2003 and yesterday I purchased a Gen 5 G19. Currently carrying a Walther PPQ M2 .40 cal during the winter but plan on moving to the G19 this summer after I wring it out.

Yup Glock 26........then tried a Sig 239( too heavy.)then a Sig 230(lighter, but too big)then a Shield 9 (longer grip didn't conceal great)..........ended up carrying the G26 again!

nyone else have the same thing happen to them? Start out with one pistol, then think you need something else, try out a bunch, and end up with the same pistol you started with?

Sort of. Somewhere along the line I picked up a S&W 642 as a pocket gun for times I didn’t feel like caring my Sig. The sig was nice, but a bit heavy. And some days I just didn’t want to deal with it. I have tried a bunch of different guns, but I always ended up going back to the 642. Not all the time. But often enough. Its just so easy to toss in a jacket pocket.

I bought a S&W M&P40 Compact in 2007 as my primary carry pistol. . . . .sold the M&P . . . . and I bought a S&W PC Shield 9mm. . . . . It was a disaster. I swore off S&W and bought an XDS 40. . . . . bought a Taurus G2C for $199 on a whim. . . . .I liked the extra rounds, and the size didn't bother me. So I decided to replace it with a similarly sized pistol in .40 S&W. . . . . original M&P40 compact, with night sights, for $349. Plus there's a rebate for $50. Bought it. So I ended up with the same pistol I started out with eleven years ago.

Anyone else have the same thing happen to them? Start out with one pistol, then think you need something else, try out a bunch, and end up with the same pistol you started with?
I have not had quite that experience, probably because I never had the money to keep buying guns. Also, my first carry gun was a gov't model 1911, so once I discovered that lighter guns existed, I moved on. I love my 1911, but it's not a carry gun for me.

What's happened to me is kind of the opposite. I keep thinking that I'll trade off my G19, but I keep not doing it. In the past 5 years, I've considered trading her off for:
S&W M&P 2.0 Compact
S&W M&P 1.0 Compact
XDM 3.8" Compact
XDS
CZ P10C
CZ 75 Compact
CZ P-01
CZ P-07
a 1911 Commander
Sig P320
HK VP9SK
HK VP9

and more . . . . . Over and over, I get this close to trading her, and then I sit down, and I remember that I really, really don't like to let go of guns that work. Maybe one day I'll pick up some of those on my list, but I guess I'll have to figure out how to do it without letting my G19 go.

Your finances have saved you thousands of dollars only to return to where you began.

I started with a 1911, but I read all the articles about tech, capacity, cops, etc, and I cycled through several different guns. Glock, Sigma, Beretta, Sig. But after a lot of changes, I realized that I always wished they are 1911s. I run exclusively 1911-style pistols, right now I mostly carry a RIA double-stack 9mm.
