I passed need after the Glock 29, Glock 20, SW 642, Ruger 22/45, Ruger 10/22, Marlin .44mag, and Remington 870. I have more than this, but they were all either "wants" or "thisissuchagooddealthaticannotpassitup".

That must be why my safe is almost full and I have another rifle and another revolver on layaway.:neener:

Well, I have a rather small safe. It only has carpet of the floor, and there's room for 4 guns only - the guns I already have. One metal shelf it has I am using for ammo, magazines, and documents. So, before I get anymore handguns I would probably have to get one of them big safes. That's gonna restrain me for a while ;)
Or I could store ammo and documents in a different place, and make some room in this small safe... Hmmm...

Yes then I come back here and Someone sets me straight by posting something like... I got a new gun whadddyauthink, or a picture of some obscure S&W, or a nice custom made 1911 like Tamara's, so I just wish I had more disposable income.....

I just got home from picking up a Taurus 605. The had a S&W 396....18 ounces....5 shot....44 special....i don't need it....i can resist....

If you ain't got a K-frame .357 Magnum and an N-frame .4x caliber, then you ain't finished.

Nope.

Were you old enough to lick stamps in the late 60's or 70's?
Did you lick an old stamp from those decades anytime recently?
Just wondering - something caused this thought process - I'm sure of it. :D

Funny, I was thinking about this very topic today while I was completing the necessary paperwork to purchase a slightly used Sig226 chambered in 9mm.
I already had a pretty complete gun collection, Springfield 1911 .45acp, Kimber Target II 10mm, S&W 1076 10mm, Glock 22 .40s&w, S&W .357mag. But recently I kept thinking how nice it would be to have a 9mm in my collection. You know, for those times when you just want to go plinking with something cheep, but thats bigger than a .22, or for those times when the more recoil sensitive tag along with you to the range.....
At any rate, I guess I will not even try to fool myself into thinking that this will be my last, probably not even close. Heck, I already have my eye on a next to new S&W 1006...... So I guess the battle will continue, for a while longer at least.

new Smith

After reading Bullet Bob's comment I acquired a Smith & Wesson 642.

You were right. I needed it.

They seem to hold their value pretty well. Problem now is finding time (and ammo) to shoot all of them!

I don't feel that you have completed your purchase obligations until you have a complete set.

A complete set = At least one of every type.
At least one of every caliber.

We all have a long way to go.

WOW - I think I have to make a trip to the gun store this afternoon.

A man really only "needs" one high-powered rifle, one shotgun, and one side arm. A man NEEDS every single flavor, caliber, color, finish, material, variation, and collectible KIND of firearm ever devised by those delightful craftsmen in the gun world. And after THAT, he still NEEDS every gun to be invented and prototyped by some genius in the making. My name is Gunz, because I lust and acquire every single gun I can afford. Ramen noodles and a veggies-only diet have helped my weight-management program whenevere I comke across a gun I "must have." Buy them all. Sort out the ones you like least later.

Every time I see political hacks that want to keep guns away from the common man, I want just one more.

Ever feel like you don't NEED any more handguns?

I know for a fact I don't NEED anymore. Haven't NEEDED any since my first.

But that's got nothing to do with buying them.

I heard this saying once. Wish I had thought of it.

You never have to many guns, and the only time that you have too much ammunition is when your house is on fire.

I have 16 hand guns but I'm still in desperate need of a Python, a GI .45, a CZ-97B, and a CZ Skorpion. Also I need at least 8 more barrels for my Contenders. Plus I don't have a Colt SAA or a black powder revolver. Looks like it's time to work some overtime. So the answer to your question is, "Not even close!"
