Or had a "reason" backfire?
Had a boss I used to hunt with, real easy going fella. Store manager had an attitude, hated guns and hunting. I was told I HAD to be present at a store meeting. I come in at noon, missed the meeting. Harummph, steely eye'd look "Missed you THIS morning" I replied I had a meeting with the boss/owner and a Doc's appt". Proceeded to chew me out...until the boss /owner walks in with a doc we hunt with. " Chill out, HE was with me and the doc this morning, ducks a whole lot more important than heariing your whiney voice at 8 am".
Mother," You and the Mrs come over for supper, been fixin' a roast" Me " Gee mom dunno, its 20* , still snowing and you're 30 miles away".[all this time the missus is eyeing me] Mom " lessee you've duck hunted 3 days in row , 60 miles one way in this stuff...and..."
Missus grabs phone..."WE are on our way"
Middle of summer, BIG family get together with in-laws out in the country. Homemade ice cream, womenfolk talking, kids playing horseshoes, yard darts...us fellas chewing the fat...real peaceful like.O course the womenfolk hadn't seen much of me, the missus is curious where I am. That is until one of those rabid dogs we are being told about "attempts" to enter the property...2 rds of 45ACP from my CCW. Shrieks, screams, heads turn...gets real quiet...missus is hanging and shaking head. " Umm- I bet I know where he is...".
