Ever have one of those ,"if only I'd been quicker"

Last Friday I was looking through the want ads in my local news paper, (I know I'm old fashioned) and saw an ad in the sporting goods section. "FS Win. model 1886 chrome plated $399." (probably ment nickle plated) I thought has to be a Browning reproduction made in Japan, but still an great price, so why not call. Well when I finnally got through as the line was busy, I asked about it, and the elderly sounding lady said it was already sold. I then asked; if you don't me asking was it an original Winchester or a repoduction? She said it was original. I thinking dam! but know I'll never know if I really missed out on a awsome deal on a old Winchester or not. On a side note, I for one don't think I've ever seen an original 86' Win. that was nickled plated. LM

I have, but it was in reaction to me not pulling the trigger fast enough....I'm sure it will happen to me in the situation that you just had....and I'm sure I will be more mad then than I was about missing the buck ;)
