Ever shoot a gun you haven't shot in a long time and forgot how much you enjoyed it?

I went out yesterday and took my son to do some clay shooting. I'm teaching him to shoot shotguns for hunting this fall. Anyway, I happened to bring my .30 carbine, a 30 round magazine and couple boxes of UMC. It had probably been 10-12 yrs since I've taken this gun out shooting and after shooting it quite a bit yesterday, I have no idea why I haven't been shooting it more often. It's one of the funnest guns I have to shoot, more accurate than you might think and never hiccupped once. I'll have to make sure it's along for the ride more often from now on.

Happened to me. Bought my first gun, Henry Lever .22 and took care of some squirrels with it. Went into the safe and didn't touch it again until recently, forgot how accurate it was lol

It was a Mossberg 46M (b) bolt action .22. My father purchased this gun for me when I was young and I learned to shoot on it. I recently moved it from my parents house to mine and took it out for a shoot and man what a fun gun. Very accurate (give my skills) and a great trigger!

Oh, yeah. My S&W 586. Shot it a lot in the 1980's and early 1990's, then got into 1911's. Brought it to the range a couple of years ago and amazed myself at how well I did with it.

Sometimes I think it may be better to switch guns from time to time.

Not many of my guns that lack excercize for too long but - the most ''neglected'' right now is my heavy barrelled Mauser Oberndorfe .22 bolt. It is a fine gun to shoot, very accurate but somehow for fun, the Marlin 60 always seems to win out. Must be four years since I shot it - time to rememdy that soon.

The Mauser, if notched for rabbit kills, would have no buttstock remaining! :p

My M-1

I hadn't handled or fired an M-1 since my military service.

When Springfield came out with their new run, I picked one up at the store.
Everything came back. It just fit right into my hands, went to my shoulder and pointed perfectly.
I bought it on the spot and took it to the range.
Fired my first clip and spent the next several minutes walking around in tight little circles flapping my wings with "happy".
(and getting VERY strange looks. This was a range of old-timers who've done it all for years and are very serious about it too. I look like I should be one of them.)

I'd forgotten how much fun shooting that weapon is.
Day-um, but life can be good.

A ruger MKII-10". Even came right to the edge of trading it once.

After 10 years, I finally took it out again. Had so much fun I ended up putting a Leupold on it, and now it goes with me on every range trip. Odd how things work out sometimes. :)

I'm about to take my Browning Medalist to the range. I've got to finish reworking the stocks and putting on a red dot scope. It has a trigger from heaven; unfortunately, I haven't been able to hang onto the stocks that came with it, nor could I see the iron sights well enough to shoot it competitively. All that's about to change.

MP5. Just got one issued to me again and I loved it as much as I used to.
