I am writing a letter to my Universities student government, because they are bringing Micheal Moore to campus, to spark a debate, yet they have planned no one with the opposing view of him. so i have written this letter.
Dear Xavier University SGA,
While reading University news on October 8, I read the article “Filmmaker, author Michael Moore coming to campus.†As I read on, the article states that this event is to spark debate and dialogue. To properly facilitate a debate I feel that both sides of the debate need to be represented. I have heard of no films or speakers being brought in to share the opposing views in the debate with Michael Moore. If things are planned to facilitate the other side of the debate I feel that they need to advertised more. I have heard numerous mentions of Moore coming, but nothing for the other side. If nothing is planned in opposition it can’t really be considered a debate. So I would like to suggest some films and speakers, be brought to give students a better grasp on both sides of the debate. (Films and speakers to be added here, when I compile a better list.) I understand that finding a keynote speaker on short notice can be very difficult, but these films are very accessible.
-------------------------------
letter is not complete just a rough draft
Films i was thinking: Innocence Betrayed (JPFO)
Speakers: John Lott.
what other films and speakers should i suggest.
