Sorry I counldn't get my phone to download the photo to the site:banghead:

Here are my numbers (all the same as yours except these) Jul 28, 2008 Lot 566

While they are close they are not the same and since I have no idea of how their powder is marked I guess I'll consider this idea a dead end unless someone knows that maybe this could be from the same batch etc.

It was worth a try, thanks.

I have some of those 180gr frontier rounds I'll load up as I only load tightgroup in my pistols and use the crony and post my results saturday after a range session....

Nuts the round I have are only 160gr not 180gr the 180's I have are remy hp's sorry about that.

I don't know what other variables that you have at work here, but you are cratering primers, and that shows me that your load is too hot in that pistol.
Double check your scale and measure, and if your charge drops are accurate, it's time to back off the charge a bit.

What is a cratered primer, or what diferentiates from a normal fired primer?

Very interesting discussion. couple of questions.

Are Ranier bullets to be treated like lead bullets?
I ask because they are electroplated

I was also looking at the Accurate load data for .40 and for Ranier it shows:

No.7 155 RAN FP 9.3 998 10.3 1,135 34,300 1.125

And for lead bullets is shows:

No.7 155 MCB SWC BB 8.7 1,008 9.7 1,146 34,600 1.130

And Hornady XTP,, which are jacketed show:

No.7 155 HDY XTP 9.0 995 10.0 1,124 34,500 1.125

So just trying to make sense of this. The Raniers do not appear to be treated like Lead Bullets.

.

Rainier bullets are thinly plated and should be loaded like a thinly plated bullet. Some guys seem to be able to use full power data but I would stick with a little lower data. Thats just me though. If you want to go full power with a plated bullet try powerbond or x-treme.

If that's a cratered primer from over-pressure, then every load I've ever fired in any of my striker fired pistols is too hot, including those that wouldn't even unlock the slide from battery.

Those primers look quite normal for rounds fired from an M&P. My Kahrs leave a slightly more teardropped striker mark. Glocks (I don't have one but I've shot plenty and looked at the primers afterward) have an embossed rectangle around the striker mark from the shape of the cutout in the breechface.

Those primers wouldn't even give me the slightest reason for pause. The chrono data, if it could be confirmed as accurate (I would certainly verify it), would indicate that pressures are near max and I wouldn't proceed beyond that powder charge.
