I just bought a Excel Arms X-22R a couple days ago and so far so good. With CCI MiniMag Round Nose Im getting 3" groups at 50yds. Just finished polishing some internals and installing a red dot sight. Cant wait to get back out to the range.

Cant seem to find anyone reviewing or even mentioning these online. Anyone else tried one? Customer service experience?

Yes, standard 10-22 mags.

It came with one Shooters Ridge Metal lip 25rd that works great....almost 400 rounds so far, not one issue. I bought a Butler Creek 25rd that wont feed more than 2 or 3 rounds without jamming up....I think the clip is defective.

Congratulations on your purchase, and thanks for posting. I had not seen that model before, and appears to be a cleaner looking version of a "tactical" rimfire, compared others that I have seen.
Good luck and good shooting.

Any truth to barrel break in?

Groups have gotten tighter after about 800 rounds. At 50 yards using cheap cci blazer im now getting 2" groups. Got a couple of strays of course but overall it has improved.

Could it just be the result of polishing of the bolt assembly?

Follow your rifles recommendations, if they have any.

22 rimfire just polishes the barrel, and an occasional cleaning to prevent any lead buildup initially, is all that it needs, usually.

If you try a different brand or type of 22 ammo every once in a while, you may find one that shoots exceptionally well in that rifle. Just buy a 50 round box of ammo every now and then, and try them. You may find a cheaper brand that shoots consistently for you. Subsonic versions may not have enough to work the action.

I have not tried the Wolf match ammo, but many here claim that it is very accurate in a variety of rifles. Not exactly cheap, but it's no where near the Eley prices.

Heres some "stuff for it " . X-22R

I bought one to make flash hiders for, but I like it, except for No Sights, SO...........
Mine has my true shot technologies flash hider, a Target sports red dot/laser, a UTG AR front & rear sight, and a UTG barrel mount rail which the front sight sits on.
I haven't fired it yet with the new toys, but at 30 feet using a bore laser, the sights are right on and the red dot even co-witnesses !!! I'll let you all know if it works like I think it will outside.

Excel X22R

I was searching for more info on this rifle and came accross this thread. Decided to join so I could post a pic of mine. I really like this rifle and for the life of me can't figure out why they are not more popular. I was a little concerened about customer service when I bought it as I knew nothing about the company, but I have contacted them on line them to buy parts and they responded withing an hour. I have about 1000 rounds through mine and I love it and as you can see I have customized it somewhat.

Agreed...I'm over 3000 rounds now and no issues. I need to get the the "iron sights" setup like you guys..only got the red dot now.
