I went to the local gun show this weekend looking to get into another ar. I ran across a company called Red X Arms that was selling complete rifles, uppers, and accessories. I had never heard of them before so talked to the guy who was running the table for a bit. He told me red x arms has been making ar parts for other company's for a while and then started making uppers and complete rifles for themselves. They have they're own machine shop in starbuck,mn. They use mossberg barrel blanks and turn and chamber them as well as making many other parts. I was a bit skeptical but Neil from red x assured me that they guarantee they're stuff and take care of customers. I ended up buying a m4 upper with stainless barrel. I bought everything from Red x except for a stripped lower. I used a surplus arms n ammo lower and built it with parts from red x and put the red x upper on it. I took it to the range today and put some rounds through it. I was having problems with the gun jamming and the cases not ejecting properly. I called Neil and he said to bring back the bolt carrier group as he believed the ejector to be faulty from my description of the problem. I took the bolt group back and he gave me a new one. I put the new bolt group in the gun and went back to the range. Problem solved. The gun worked liked a champ. I put 250 rounds through it with no problems. I used federal and s&b 55gr. fmj ammo and the gun shot great and quite accurately. Needless to say I am impressed with red x arms. They are very reasonably priced. The customer service is top notch and Neil takes care of people. When I had a problem he fixed it and was sincere in his apologies. I love the gun and it shoots great. If your looking for an ar on a budget I reccomend red x arms. I will let you know how the gun is doing as I get more rounds down range but so far so good.
