Does anyone have any resources or links & such for honing fine motor control skills? Watching the sight of my rifle wander all over the target like a drunk weaving their way down the sidewalk makes me realize I have some work to do.

I haven't know antyone whose sights don't waver, some more than others. However, the offhand shooting I do lets me know when my waver, the sights, the target and the squeese come togeather. Sorry, I don't know amything to do but practice.

Start with breathing exercises. After you steady your position and relax your muscles, take a deep breath and hold it for at least 3 secs., then slowly exhale deeply, hold for 3 secs., trying to push all the air out of your lungs. Repeat 3 times. On that last exhale and hold cycle, watch that sight - my guess is it will be much more stable when compared to your initial picture.

Lay off the caffeine on shooting days as well. :p

The best practice for finetuning sight alignment and trigger control on your rifle is to dry practice with your rifle.

Fine motor skills are developed through repetition, like how we all were taught to write as kids. Dry fire like Vegasopm said, and shoulder the weapon often for longer periods of time your skill will develop. Be sure to hold it with good form for as long as you can. Put it down for a rest when the form begins to break down. Clean inputs to the nervous system will ensure clean outputs when it counts.

Completely agree with the advice as given. :)

On another note, some pilots I knew in the service were learning to juggle to help with the same sort of issues. Sounded like a good idea (as in can't hurt), lost contact with them, so no idea how it turned out.

Upper body strength training would help. Lift dumb bells, skip rope are two simple, affordable ones.

Add a sling used properly,
